iRobot Roomba 694
The iRobot Roomba 694 is a basic robot vacuum that performs well on both bare floors and low-pile carpet. It also does a decent job of cleaning pet hair but it's not impervious to tangling as top Roomba models such as the j7 or I6.
The Roomba 694 is easy to use. It is controlled by an app for smartphones that allows you to schedule and stop/start cycles, as well as alter settings. Shark RV1001AE IQ
This self-emptying robot that is budget-friendly does an okay job on hard floors as well as carpets with low pile. Its combination brush gets into edges and corners, and it automatically increases suction when it spots carpet. It also does a great job of cleaning embedded dirt on carpet in the middle. The IQ's small dock footprint and self-emptying feature are nice touches. However, if you want to alter the floor level on the map or create no-go zones, you'll have manually reset it to do this, which can be somewhat of an inconvenience.
The IQ's application has advanced mapping and automation features however it doesn't have no-go zones which are included on iRobot models. Its smart-pathing system allows for superior maneuverability and the high-pile mode of its carpet cleaning mode is very effective however it can be caught on rug tassels.
During our tests, we found that the IQ handled pet hair with ease. It was able to get rid of lots of debris on floors that were not bare and a decent amount of medium-pile rug. It was less effective on shag carpets where it struggled to get at dirt and dust embedded in the fibers. It did a decent job of navigating chair legs and tight spaces, as well as the wooden base of an IKEA step stool. We did notice it was a bit slower on floors that were not paved, but it regained speed and performed better than other robots we tested.
The IQ is a better choice over the iRobot Roomba 694 for most uses. It has a bigger dustbin and a longer battery lifespan and is more adept at navigating obstacles. It also has mopping attachments that are able to deal with sticky mess. On the other side the iRobot is more durable and has fewer parts that require maintenance or replacement and has lower recurring costs, and can create virtual no-go zones through its companion app. It is able to continue cleaning from where it left off, even if the battery is out before it's finished. Eufy 11S
The RoboVac 11S by eufy isn't exactly the most feature-rich robot vacuum around, but it does offer powerful cleaning capabilities at an affordable price. This robot vacuum is made for those who are budget conscious and don't require a complicated mapping system, or an application to control it. The robot can run for up to an hour and comes with the remote, a cleaning tool, AC power adapter, charging base, and additional filters.
The 11S is slim, sleek and has a tempered-glass upper deck that looks like the brushed appearance of aluminum. It's a nice change from the industrial and utilitarian designs of Roomba, Samsung and Neato.
The eufy11S performed well in our tests at removing larger particles and fine dust from floors. However, it struggled to provide medium and high pile carpeting an effective deep clean. It is also prone to bump into furniture and other objects in its path however, it's able detect these obstacles using sensors. It stops and emits a loud sound when it encounters an obstacle. Then, you can manually steer the device around it to restart it.
Another fantastic aspect of the eufy 11S is its BoostIQ mode that lets you set the robot to automatically adjust the strength of its suction to match floor type and level of dirt. It's also simple to use the remote to direct the 11S where you'd like it to go.
If you don't have many furniture in the room you'd like to vacuum Single Room Mode is an excellent alternative. The eufy can spend up to 30 minutes cleaning the space it is assigned.
You can also choose Edge Cleaning which limits the amount of time in each area to 20 minutes for optimal battery life. By selecting this option the eufy can move in a spiral pattern, tackling corners and edges to ensure a clean.
Miele Complete C1
The Miele Complete C1 is an excellent mid-range canister robot vacuum that is a top performer on carpet. Its performance is also exceptional on floors that are not bare. It is able to remove rice and other small particles with ease. The suction power doesn't drop when the dirt bin is full. Its air-sealed design and allergy-friendly design snuff out allergens and keep your family healthy. It has an onboard HEPA filter and a self-emptying dustbin, which means you don't need additional filters or a separate bag for your vacuum.
It's not as powerful robot vacuum cleaner as the more expensive models, but it's ideal for deep cleaning and taking on stains. The two cameras on the front of the unit provide live images to your smartphone, and it comes with one of the best obstacle avoidance systems we've ever seen.
