The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is a good option if you're looking to buy a mid-range mop and robot vacuum. It provides a fantastic mopping experience but lacks the features that make up its more expensive sibling.
In tests, it was able to tackle dust and dry oats on carpets of medium pile as well as pet hair on hard floors. However, like cheaper models, it doesn't utilize LIDAR to map out your home.
Roomba s9+ from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is one of the top-rated robots. It is loaded with features and impressive cleaning power, such as an area for dirt that is integrated into the base of charging. The robot will learn your habits for cleaning and suggest automatic schedules that will give you a truly hands-free cleaning experience.
It's easy to set up thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the process. Once the system is in place, you can start automated cleaning with a single button press. You can choose a general clean that focuses on the removal of larger particles like cereal and rice. Or you can choose two mappings to ensure that your home is completely cleaned.
This vacuum works well both on bare floors and carpets with a low pile. It is able to pick up pet hair and clean large objects up. It doesn't lose suction as quickly as other robot vacuums. It has a difficult time with plush or high-pile carpet, but iRobot says it will improve in the future with new models.
The S9+ is a new design from iRobot that focuses on improving edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted, D-shaped design, which it hopes will allow it to be able to swaddle walls and furniture. It's a step up from the hockey puck-shaped robovacs that are widely used, but we found it to be just marginally superior to circular models.
iRobot claims that the S9+ also comes with superior filtration, which prevents microscopic particles and allergens recirculating in your home. It's a nice claim, however, we're not convinced it's enough to justify the price price.
Its smart navigation system employs a combination of sensors to keep track of your home's layout, and vSLAM technology for mapping the interior. This allows it to steer clear of obstacles like stairs and other barriers, and also to clean your entire house efficiently possible. The iRobot Home app lets you control the robot and set cleaning times, as well as set up virtual boundary markers, so it knows to avoid areas that require extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
When it is about robots that combine mopping and vacuuming, the Roborock Q Revo stands out. Its vacuum settings are as good as those on higher-end models. The mopping system is even better - its spinning pads clean your floors better than the vibrating pads.
It's only downside is the absence of a second brush to allow for deeper cleaning. However, it's not a big deal when you're looking to purchase one of the best robots available. The dust tank on the robo-vac is bigger than most of its competitors and filling it takes just two or three cycles, even when you've got a lot of dirt.
For the mopping system, I was amazed by its ability to scrub tough dirt off my floors. The two mopping modes that it has that are less abrasive than the more powerful ones, generate very little noise, which allows you to work or watch television without interruption. If it encounters the wall or a piece of furniture, it gently bumps into it and then moves along.
The Q Revo is unique in that it can run almost entirely on its own, requiring only minimal user involvement. The robo-vac features a multi-function dock that can automatically transfer physical trash to the bin hidden from view and also cleans and drys the mop pads, and refills its clean water tank. The app is good at alerting you when something requires attention, such as the clean water tank running low or a scheduled cleaning session having been canceled due to a stuffed dust bin.
You can also create and merge actual rooms to alter how the Q Revo will treat your home. This feature is useful if you have different flooring in different areas of your house or when you have to frequently remove clutter, such as clothes, toys, and books. The robo-vac was also one of the best performers in my tests and was able to remove debris from carpets as well as hardwood floors on the first attempt. It is able to even remove wet spills, though I recommend drying them with a damp cloth prior to sending the robot in.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd want from a top-quality robot vacuum and mop and more. Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+, it has an excellent vacuum that has a powerful suction to clean carpets and hard floors, as well as the mop's rotating design that can scrub tough stains. It also has self-cleaning bases that automatically empties and washes the mop pads, keeping them free of germs and ready to use again. It also features a new sensor system that better recognizes obstacles, giving it the ability to avoid falling over furniture or other objects.
The most significant improvement over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that it has a sleeker, more modern design, thanks to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for its Bang & Olufsen products). The robot is still quite large. It is more than two feet in the height and depth and weighs nearly four pounds. However, the robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot j7.
This version is more efficient than the X1 because it charges more quickly and can clean 1,500 square feet in one charge. It also has a larger and more durable dustbin that can hold more debris. This makes it easier to empty.
The X2 Omni also has a more natural voice assistant and an app that is functional even if you are not at home. It also has a smart routing function that lets it clean specific areas or rooms of your home, instead of following a predetermined path.
The X2 Omni is the best robot at mopping. Its mop pads rotating scrub away tough stains, and its motor produces a lot of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is also top-notch, and it boosts suction when it detects a carpet to ensure a thorough cleaning. It also has a large battery that can last for weeks between charges and its mopping mode is as powerful as any we've seen in the market for a consumer robot.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a top-quality robot vacuum and mop that comes with a range of convenience features you aren't likely to find on robots in this price range. It can make detailed floor maps and detect various flooring types. It's also one of the only robots that automatically clean and dry its mop pad. These features are great, but they also push the L10s into the luxury category. This could make it more expensive than what homeowners would need.
The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaner. It's tall and slim, with a white finish, accentuated by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine has an impressive bumper that protects the vacuum cleaner here and furniture when you are moving around your home. Sensors are concealed behind the front pane, which helps the L10s Ultra navigate tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top of the vacuum, there is a single button which acts as an on/off switch. By pressing this button, you can activate the vacuum, and clicking it again will turn off the vacuum and return it to its base station. The circular menu at the center of the control panel lets you to select cleaning modes or schedules, as well as preferences. The left and right buttons on the screen will open the settings menu in which you can modify how the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation techniques to map out your home. This creates a detailed floor plan that enables the robot vacuum and mop with ease without getting stuck in messy areas. The LIDAR also helps the robot vacuum recognize and avoid obstacles, which is a nice feature for families with pets or children.
The L10s Ultra has a solid vacuuming capability which clears 98.4% of debris from our hard-floor test and removing all but the most stubborn juice stains. Its mops are efficient, taking away 98.4% of debris on our tile, wood, and carpet tests. It was not as efficient in removing sand from the hard floor or quaker oats from the carpet.
